Comm-Group™ provides project management support services
to the VALU, a virtual learning university. The VALU endorses and
supports educational training programs for all VA staff and gives
employees a greater role in the development of their careers. With
more than 220,000 staff members at 1,300 locations nationwide, the
VA must utilize technological advances to offer the broadest array
of learning options in the most cost effective manner. This includes
satellite broadcasts, desktop learning, and web-based learning.
Comm-Group performs the following tasks and functions, but is not
limited to:
- Instructional design services and final editing for all content
developed by 3rd party vendors
- Leadership curriculum development and mentoring to 3rd party
vendor content providers who submit content to be approved for
inclusion in the VALU
- Program management and web design services for content and work
in collaboration with outside vendors to develop content in a
uniformed manner, based on VA policies and procedures

- Provided project management and implementation for Frame Relay
and Switch Voice Services, including toll free, long distance
and international for DOT, Federal Aviation Agency and USCG FTS
Project
- Demonstrated background in managing complex projects to completion,
on time and within budget, utilizing established project management
methodologies
- Provided proposal/pricing management for SSA, FBI, National
Park Service, FDA, National Guard Priced Frame Relay and ATM Network
and NSA Priced DTS Private Line Network
- Built and maintained a database for tracking purposes
- Ongoing research to identify outstanding proposal and billing
issues
- Working with VSAT Project Manager and vendor to change and improve
current processes
- Assist counterpart responsible for the proposal process regarding
the AOI project, including proposal validation/submission, queries
and research
FBI TRILOGY PROJECT
- Responsible for site readiness including installation, provisioning,
and implementation of circuits and equipment, and coordinating
any necessary dispatches. Implementations include DS3's, DS1's,
Nx solutions, as well as International broadband circuits
- Working with the customer and 3rd party vendor to provide status
updates
- Provide engineering / technical support for MCI/WorldCom and joint
vendors, as well as to the customer
- Providing detailed reporting to upper management
- Comm-Group™ was responsible for converting 110 FBI field
offices and their WAN connections from Frame to ATM network (Security
clearance is required)
SSA PROJECT
- Responsible for site readiness including installation, provisioning,
and implementation, and coordinating any necessary dispatch
- Implementations includes DS3's, DS1's, Nx solutions, as well
as International broadband circuits
- Working with the customer to provide status and work through
engineering issues. Provide engineering and technical support
for MCI/WorldCom and it's vendors, as well as to the customer
- Providing detailed reporting to upper management. This
project is the U.S. 's largest Frame/ATM Network, with over 1700
nodes
- Comm-Group™ was responsible for over 750 SSA field offices
and their WAN connections over the Frame to ATM network
BACK OFFICE OPERATIONS– INVOICE
AUDITING
- Comm-Group™ developed a process for auditing the monthly
MCI/WorldCom MNS Invoice to USPS, including validating charges
and identifying billing errors and omissions
- Built and maintained a database for the purpose of auditing
invoices (16,000+ records)
- Research to identify where system errors were caused; identified
500+ sites that were not currently billing, some dating back to
the start of contract. As a result of Comm-Group’s™
efforts, MCI/WorldCom is expected to recoup this revenue ($2 million+)
- Assist in auditing manual invoices from vendor
